I couldn't get a very good shot of this one, it was raining outside so my options were kind of limited. In person I was really happy with it though :)
We're still in Eureka, it's kind of like another country here. We ran the 5K around the lake yesterday and instead of giving us bananas or oranges at the end, they gave us kuchen....I think that's how you spell it anyway...I don't...
Today we're driving to South Dakota, we left at 6 this morning and right now we're in a little town called Valentine in Nebraska. So far it's greener over here than I expected, way better than driving through Utah and Nevada! I think we have another 4 hours before we get to Eureka SD. Oh and we saw a reindeer!
Travel day to Denver! We're stopping in Denver and then driving to South Dakota (any tips for how to not hate car rides are welcome :) I miss Denver! so I'm happy we get to see it for at least a little while.
We leave for our 4th of July trip to South Dakota tomorrow, I'm excited because I've never been there, and hopefully I'll get some good reference shots for later paintings. I'm not sure what to expect, but I hear there will be buffaloes and pheasants, and possibly thunderstorms. If there's a thunderstorm I'll be a happy for the whole trip.
As for blogging, I've painted ahead so there will be new...
I got to see In the Heights at the Pantages Theater in LA this weekend, I feel like I've been waiting forever to see it! It was worth the wait :)
Today's painting is another view of the Carpinteria Salt Marsh, with the sun breaking through the clouds... only two days left of June, hopefully the gloom is almost over!
