My husband saved me from an umbrella just like this one at the beach last weekend. It had gotten a little windy and someone's umbrella had sprung loose, but for some reason the pointy end (not the umbrella part) was headed full speed at the back of my neck. Luckily my husband is part jedi and caught it just inches before it hit me. Thanks love :)

I'm SO happy with how this one turned out. And the process wasn't even painful, that's the best :)

I keep seeing blog posts by other artists saying they're sick of the cold and sick of winter... well in Santa Barbara "winter" is never really here, so I can't say I'm sick of it, but I AM happy that the sun is starting to stay out later!
Zach and I headed out to First Thursday last night. And I was very happy to receive an award at the opening reception of SBAA's new show at the Channing Peake...
I wasn't sure how this one would turn out, but I really like the orange and blue colors together. I didn't pick a new years resolution, but I think I would like to be a little more daring in my painting.

Back in California! Just in time for the rains to start again apparently :)
I've been drawn to these types of scenes lately, a little dramatic and lit from behind.
