I switched up my color palette for this painting. I took out certain colors that I deemed as "shortcuts" (Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Yellow Ochre) or ones that I was just using too much of (Sap Green) and I added a few that have been neglected in my paint drawers for months, such as Quinacridone Rose and Cadmium Green Pale. Round Pears - 5x5

My favorite types of pears to paint are the ones with great angles and curves...well Trader Joes didn't have any of those, just these round fat ones.  Good news is that they taste just as good :)

Tangerine Trio - 6x6

Studio cat stole one of my giant art erasers this morning, and he's been playing fetch with it for about an hour now.  He looks pretty ridiculous carrying it around in his mouth.  

I think this is my favorite of the all the tangerine still lifes I've done, maybe it's just that I love orange and blue together.

Sorry to everyone who received a duplicate email this morning.  I really don't know why that happened, I was adjusting the photos on some of my older posts, but I don't know why that would cause it to send twice.  Hopefully it's fixed now.
