I'm afraid I'm a little behind with my daily paintings now, since I spent two whole days working on this larger piece. I think I need at least a few larger pieces for this upcoming show, so it was worth it.
There is another reception at the Red Door Gallery tomorrow from 4:00-6:00, please stop by if you're in town! And ask me questions! I need practice in answering them :)
I painted this one a while ago, but I couldn't photograph it until now. They were replacing our roof last week and dropping nails and stuff everywhere, I didn't want to risk taking it outside. Thank goodness they're finally done! A week of pounding was not fun at all.
Here's the large painting I was working on last week! I thought it was going to be such a pain to photograph, but it wasn't too bad. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and I'm glad I finished it in time for the studio tour!
This is the largest in my harbor series so far. The sky turned out to be the most difficult part of the whole piece. It looks like it should be the most simple...and I think that was part of the problem, it was so calm while the actual harbor part was so busy. I painted it three times before I was finally happy with it...I never do that!
Zach and I had a great time wine tasting in Solvang yesterday, if you ever go make sure you look for the 2 for 1 tasting coupons first! We ended up with one for every place we went, so our whole day was half off. And we even found the apple orchard :) I'm so happy about the bag full of fresh picked galas in my kitchen.
Here's my first three piece painting, I love the colors :)
