I've finally gotten around to making paintings to cover up the awkward fireplace vent holes in our living room. It took me a while to think of something that I would be ok with looking at everyday. Today's painting was much more successful, in my opinion. It was my first attempt at painting on a masonite panel. It had a very different feel than canvas, but I loved it. I chose another photograph that I took at the Santa Barbara courthouse, since I really liked how the other one turned out.
