I thought I would try my hand at another night scene. It's not my favorite one, but I did learn a few things that will help me next time.

I'm working on a series of paintings now that will all be painted pretty quickly. I want the brushstrokes to be very loose, and I want the colors to be more vibrant than they would be in real life. I also want to chose subjects that have extreme dark and light...

Snow day

Last Thursday was a snow day, my first one ever. And I discovered that snow is much more fun when you get a day off work, and have unexpected time to pursue happier things.

I painted this from a photo I took at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, when Zach and I were there getting our marriage license. Mostly I just wanted to paint the sunlight on the bushes, it just looked fun to me.
