I felt so free with this one. I was more concerned with the illusion of light and the feeling of the trees, rather than the particular shapes and details.
We've definitely had some interesting clouds here lately. Right now it's so windy I don't think a cloud could survive, Charlie the cat is racing around the house like the world is ending.... I don't think wind is his favorite.
I felt a little stale last week, I still liked what I was painting but I felt I needed an exercise to get out of my normal way of thinking. Working in watercolor forces you to think about everything backwards, just what I needed to mix things up a little.
I keep seeing blog posts by other artists saying they're sick of the cold and sick of winter... well in Santa Barbara "winter" is never really here, so I can't say I'm sick of it, but I AM happy that the sun is starting to stay out later!
