A very happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there :)
A little still life for today. I was trying out a slightly different process while I painted this one. I usually lay down a sort of brownish ground and then pencil in my composition on top, well I ran out of lead in my pencil, and since we're still in temp housing there were no other pencils around. So this one was marked in with paint...that...
I'm trying to find other things that I can add into my still life paintings. I think a trip to Goodwill is in order, maybe I'll find a fantastic red vase or some interesting glass pieces. But for today this old clock was the best I could find.
I can't think of a whole lot to write about this one.... I wanted it to be simple and I wanted it to be colorful. And I love orange and blue together, so tangerines were an obvious choice :)
Well my whole body aches, so I know I've had a productive day. And I'm very much looking forward to this weekend, which will consist of date night, casino night, and most importantly beach day!
While I was packing up my studio I also found these 6x12 canvas panels, so I'll be trying those out for the next few days.
It's so cold outside right now, and I think it got reflected in today's painting. I should have picked a warmer subject. I'm still cold, time to go put on another sweater.
